Break out the shovels and fire up the snowblowers this weekend Wisconsin, because more snow is coming our way.

Upwards of 4 inches of snow is likely to hit central and northeastern Wisconsin beginning Sunday morning, according to the National Weather Service. The heaviest snow will fall Sunday between mid-morning and mid-afternoon and begin to taper off early Monday morning. The Northwoods are less likely to get more than 4 inches of snow, according to the latest forecast.

The snow will start Sunday morning in central Wisconsin and move east throughout the day, meteorologist Scott Cultice said. Expect slippery, snow-covered roads throughout the day on Sunday, he said.

The weather service advises people keep an eye on the forecast, as there is still uncertainty about where the most snow will fall. Some changes are still possible.

More than 4 inches of snow is expected in parts of Wisconsin on Sunday.

Temperatures Sunday will range from 23 to 34, according to the weather service.

While temperatures have been much milder this year compared to last year, parts of Wisconsin have actually gotten more snow than average, Cultice said. Green Bay has about 10 more inches of snow than what the weather service considers normal. Wausau has recorded nearly 52 inches of snow since the winter's first snowfall, which is about 14 inches above normal, Cutlice said.

Throughout the day Friday, expect to see some light snow showers and flurries. Less than an inch of accumulation is expected. People living along Lake Michigan could experience a few flakes on Saturday, the weather service said.
