The wife of a Shawano County man murdered in Missouri over the summer said Thursday that a suspect in his death will "rot in hell."

Lisa Diemel, wife of Nicholas Diemel, posted the message on Facebook Thursday, one day after Garland Joseph Nelson was charged with killing Nicholas, 34, and his brother, Justin Diemel, 24, in July after they visited his Missouri farm on business. Nelson, 25, is accused of shooting the brothers, then burning and burying their bodies to hide the crime.

If convicted, Nelson faces a possible death penalty.

"This monster will rot in hell for what he has done," Lisa Diemel wrote. "I am sure there is no ability to even comprehend the rippling effects of the actions he chose and no sentence will ever be enough."

The brothers, owners of Diemel’s Livestock in Navarino, traveled to Nelson's Braymer, Missouri, property to collect a $250,000 check from him for cattle that were in his care, court documents show. An employee of the brothers believes Nelson used the debt to lure them to his farm, according to the Associated Press.

The Diemels were scheduled to board a flight from Kansas City to Milwaukee on July 21 but never got on the plane. After their disappearance, authorities charged Nelson with tampering with a pickup truck the brothers rented during their trip. Nelson had driven the truck from his farm in Braymer, Missouri, and abandoned it in a commuter lot after the brothers visited the farm for a business deal, police said.

He pleaded not guilty to that charge earlier this month.

A Shawano County judge granted Lisa Diemel the authority to manage the brothers' business in late July after "all the facts" led her to believe her husband and brother-in-law were dead. In her Facebook post, she said her heart felt as heavy as the day she lost Nicholas.

"Maybe it's just the finality, reading what happened and not just hearing the horrific details of what this monster did to you and Justin," she said. "There will never be closure for this senseless deliberate loss of life. For everyone that loves you both, justice will never be served."
