KRONENWETTER — A school bus carrying children slid off the road and into a ditch Wednesday morning as a fresh round of snow made roads slippery during the morning commute.

The crash occurred around 8:15 a.m. on Martin Road, according to the Marathon County Sheriff's Office. While the bus was "pretty full" of children, none were injured and no other vehicles were involved. Another school bus arrived at the scene and first responders helped load the children onto the new bus to take them to school about 45 minutes after the crash was reported.

According to the sheriff's office, the bus driver could not see the ditch line and got too far over the shoulder of the road, causing a front wheel to get stuck in the ditch.

The bus company called a tow service to remove the bus from the ditch, according to the sheriff's office. The incident was cleared by about 9:30 a.m.
